Who can provide care?

Are you considering caring for a friend or loved one at home? You may be eligible for help through the MassHealth Adult Foster Care program.

IN THIS SECTION

Adult Foster Care caregivers must meet certain requirements to be eligible to care for their family member or friend. Caregivers can be family members or non-family members. They cannot be spouses, parents or guardians. The Adult Foster Care caregiver must:

caring for a disabled child
  • be 18 years of age or older
  • be able to pass Criminal Offender Record Information check
  • have the ability to provide the medical care and physical assistance required to care for the potential member
  • be able to provide references
  • have a physical and TB test within the past 12 months
